Lee Wood - Director and Implant lead technician

Lee lives in Essex, has been married for 13 years and has two children. He enjoys watching football and is a dab hand at DIY.

Lee qualified from Lambeth College and has over 18 years' experience in designing and waxing metal and all ceramic sub-structures from single unit restorations to full arch and full mouth cases.

Lee has a wealth of experience in implantology and is qualified as an accredited Straumann user earning Platinum status. This is Straumann's ultimate recognition of a technician with comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the Straumann Dental Implant System and underpins the genuine working partnership between technician and practitioner. In October 2011, Lee was asked by Straumann to be part of the expert panel on their stand at the BDTA in Birmingham.

As well as Straumann, Lee has worked with many other Implant systems including Astratech, Nobel Biocare, Ankylos, Camlog and the Atlantis abutment system.

Over the years Lee has attended numerous courses, seminars and events over the UK including those in Smile Design and Occlusion. Lee attended the Ultimate occlusion course 1 and the advanced level 2, whose speakers were world renowned clinicians from the USA. He has also visited Germany and Lichtenstein to attend lectures in the principles of Cad/cam technology and pressed ceramic. He was also selected by principal dentist, Dr Maini, to join him on the FGDP Implant diploma module at Leeds University. Sixty top clinicians attended this course where technicians are selected by invitation only. Lee was among only five technicians who attended. Such opportunities are very rare and the knowledge gained at this event was invaluable.

Lee has a fantastic eye for fine detail and produces an exceptionally high standard in his work which is evident in the excellent results he achieves. He does this by combining his fantastic eye for fine detail, in depth practical knowledge, understanding and effective communication between himself and the dentists he works with.

Simon Caxton - Director and Ceramics lead technician

Simon lives in Essex, has been married for 6 years and has two children. Simon enjoys playing golf, with his handicap of 15 and likes to watch rugby, football and cricket. He also enjoys cooking for friends.

Simon is a highly experienced technician of 18 years. In this time he has travelled the UK and Europe, including Germany and Liechtenstein, obtaining the best education and training available.

His skills have taken him to industry award ceremonies, where in 2009 and 2010 he received highly commended awards for his ceramic work, later winning the Aesthetic Restorative Technician award for his outstanding talent at the prestigious Smile Awards in 2011.

With 11 years' experience in aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry he is at the forefront of advanced aesthetic ceramic work. Simon's modern approach to dentistry has been enhanced by the use of cad cam technology, of which he has great experience, using these skills in his everyday work, from single units to full mouth rehabilitation.

Simon is lucky enough to have been involved with using the early cad cam technology and advancing with the new modern cad cam systems, giving him an in depth knowledge for any cad cam challenge. During his career Simon has been involved with training courses for both clinicians and technicians, giving help and advice of smile design principles and techniques, also more advanced cases and occlusal rehabilitation. He has also attended ultimate occlusion courses run by top clinicians from the USA.

Simon has used many different ceramic systems and has been using and working with pressed ceramics from its introduction into dentistry to the present day, undertaking many courses for these systems, including pressing over zirconia and metal.

Simon in his everyday work has dealt with many large complex cases including full mouth rehabilitation cases, his problem solving, attention to detail and his vast experience of advanced dentistry give Simon the knowledge and ability to produce the right results every time.

Ryan Hay - Trainee Dental Technician

Ryan came to the Simplee team in September 2011 having previously worked in a large private laboratory for 4 years. He is currently enrolled on the Dental Technicians course at Lambeth College in Clapham.

Ryan has settled in well and become an integral part of the team, improving his skills daily with his eagerness to progress and learn.

Ryan has trained in smile design techniques and pressed ceramic waxing, and he is currently working closely alongside the partners to increase his knowledge of rehabilitation and implant restorative cases. He has a keen eye for diagnostic waxing.

Ryan is young and enthusiastic and enjoys playing football and going to the gym in his spare time, a real asset to the Simplee team.

Georgia - Trainee Dental Technician

Georgia joined Simplee in June 2011, after completing her GCSE's. During her final term at school she took part in work experience at a dental laboratory in London's West End, and decided that she loved it so much she wanted to become a Technician. She really enjoyed her time at the laboratory, where it became apparent that she had quite a natural eye for the job.

Since joining the team at Simplee, she has progressed quickly and is continuously improving her skills and knowledge and is always keen to try to learn new aspects about the job.

Georgia is a real asset to the team and is quickly realising her potential and obvious natural talent.
